In the Sunshine

Well my achievement for today is that I am sat in the sunshine at the bottom of our garden :0) I got down here all by myself! I think the stubborn streak in me is really helping me to get the things done that I want to do :0) yesterday I was suffering in bed all day long as the codeine in the painkillers the hospital gave me was not agreeing with me (made me vomit & feel dizzy/light headed)! I've only taken paracetamol & ibuprofen today, I feel much better...

Hope everyone reading this is having a brilliant Sunday :0)...

I had my blonde re-done to cover my roots (I'm naturally dark blonde but prefer to be a bit lighter!) & plummy purple at the back (underneath) ~ excuse the picture of the purple, it was the best I could get!!! :0)

I hope you like my pictures!!! Apologies for two blog posts straight after one another, I got a bit excited when my magazine arrived!!! Hehe...
Have a great Saturday everyone!!!

Sparklies Fabrics...

I just got a couple of new fabrics through from Sparklies and they are beautiful...I had honestly forgotten that I ordered them so them arriving was a grand surprise...

Sparklies hand dye each of their fabrics so can take a little time to arrive but with me starting my new job recently and everything I had just forgotten about them...

Here's a picture of them:
Both gorgeous!!! Not sure yet what designs will go on them but always great to add to your stash pile ;0)...
Thanks for looking & enjoy your weekend...

*sulks*

I've got a virus and I'm a poorly girl at the moment :0( it sucks because I don't have the energy to do anything. NOT even stitch :0( that is really nasty because I could've got loads acheived on Friday, today and over the weekend. All I want to do is sleep though :0(  this is exactly how I feel right now!!! >>>

BEFORE I got poorly I have been working on this - John Clayton's American Smooth.                                                                                  >>>
This is for my Mum's Christmas present :0) I'm quite proud of my progress so far...
<<< this is how much I have done in just a few days. I might see what I feel like tomorrow and attempt some more. BUT I don't want to try and do some and go wrong and then spend my next session at it frogging the mistakes I did when I was poorly. That would definitely NOT be fun!!! It is a nice design because each symbol for stitches is either a plain colour or two different colours combined called 'tweeding'. This means every section that I am looking at has a different 'feel' to it and some of the depth and detail in the colours is created by stitching with one strand of one colour and one strand of another at the same time (hope that makes sense!) I am really enjoying the work that I am putting into it. The reason why I chose this design to do is that the dancer looks a bit like my Mum when she was younger and she used to do ballroom dancing so I think it'll remind her a bit of those days which will be nice. Whether she'll have any place to hang this design is another matter but hey it's the thought that counts!!! I need to do something for me next - HOWEVER my HAED is for meee but I haven't worked on that in a while...maybe I need to get that out and see if I can put a few more stitches in that or it'll end up a UFO!!!

CURRENTLY my HAED stands at this:

With no stitches placed in it since May time. Perhaps I should make an effort with this project tomorrow if I feel up to it - we'll see!

Thanks for reading this (if you did) and I hope you like my current project for my Mum, I will really try to put some more stitches into it this week and post another update!!!

HAED Progress #1

This is the progress of my HAED Moon Glow -

Okay you can't see the difference between the black and the navy. You can under my daylight though, and when just looking at it normally. I have done 2964 stitches now in 10days stitching. I am now going to move to the right and complete some of the coloured stitches there whilst alternating between the blacks on pages 1 and 2.

I am going to complete a couple of black squares (about 200stitches) for every coloured bit I stitch, so that I don't get bored of the black! Big Grin

Pretty much the rest of that space that I have marked out on page 1 is black Eek I've done all the navy stitches on that page Roll Eyes

I hope you like my progress even though you can't see much at the moment...I'm quite proud of it...I have worked out that it will take me between 7 and 8 months to complete...so I am giving myself the next year to complete her!Big GrinBig GrinBig Grin

Baby W's Sampler WIP Progress #1

on one of Emma's beautiful fabrics...this is for Baby Whinfield (not sure yet if it is a girl or a boy...)
No news just yet and I think he or she was due today but you know how reluctant a baby can be to enter the world - especially in all this cold!!!

So I chose a design from a back issue of CSC (I don't know which issue mind) which has a teddy holding a blanket and the words 'new baby' written in baby blocks. I have selected parts of the image (because it is lots of little images together to make the sampler up) and decided to stitch them to make it's completion a bit faster.

I've been off work today due to my god knows what I'm suffering from...(virus maybe?!) so I have done a lot Wink

I hope you like my progress so far...off to do a bit more before bed!!!
